Resisting the increasing privatization of beachfront property, the project seeks to democratize access to the beach. Both the commercial and residential parcels are porous, allowing the public to traverse the entire site from the main road all the way to the ocean. The public components of the program (restaurants, cafes, shops, amenities) are located at the heart of the site, directly facing the ocean, placed in a labyrinthine layout of low pavilions which encourages meandering through the site. The residential units are also organized to allow public circulation through the blocks. The multiplicity of paths and views fabricates an ever-changing experience of discovery as the visitor navigates through the project.
