Le nouveau centre hospitalier universitaire de Laâyoune sera un outil structurant pour la ville et la région, positionnant Laâyoune comme une grande capitale régionale. Situé sur un site longeant la route primaire au Sud et la limite naturelle de l'extension urbaine de l'Oued au Nord, le projet et son échelle rompent délibérément avec le tissu urbain existant et permettent d'imaginer le bâtiment à l'échelle du paysage environnant.
L'idée d'une architecture contextuelle et intégrée est au cœur du projet. S'agissant d'un hôpital universitaire, le bâtiment est à la fois sérieux, efficace et durable dans le temps, mais sa conception offre également une nouvelle échelle pour la ville et une relation inédite avec le paysage, dans un site à l'écosystème difficile. Il s'agit d'une oasis de végétation dans un grand volume urbain.

The new Laâyoune University Hospital Center will serve as a structuring tool for the city and the region, positioning Laâyoune as a major regional capital. Located on a site along the primary road to the South and the natural limit of the urban extension of Oued in the North, the project and its scale deliberately breaks with the existing urban fabric and makes it possible to imagine the building at the scale of the surrounding landscape.
The idea of a contextual and integrated architecture is at the heart of the project. Being a teaching hospital, the building is at once serious, efficient, and sustainable over time, but its design also offers a new scale for the city and an unprecedented relationship with the landscape, in a site with a difficult ecosystem. It is an oasis of vegetation in a large urban volume.
